The Human Edge, Leadership and Culture in the Age of Automation

What is on the table.

The question this session is built around, and why it matters now.

Automation is changing what organisations ask of their people, and it is doing so faster than most leadership teams have had time to think through. The technical questions get plenty of attention. The human ones, about judgement, trust, culture and what leadership now has to do differently, get far less.

This roundtable is a closed conversation among senior leaders on precisely those questions. Cameras on, numbers kept deliberately small, and a chair who keeps the discussion honest and moving. Nothing said in the room is attributed outside it.

It suits leaders who are already living with automation at scale and want to compare notes with peers who are carrying the same responsibility.

Themes we expect to cover.

The chair sets the question; the room decides where it goes. These are the threads most likely to run through the conversation.

Judgement in an automated organisation

Where human decision-making still has to sit, and how leaders are protecting it as systems take on more.

Culture under pressure

What happens to trust, motivation and belonging when roles change quickly, and what senior teams are doing about it.

Leading people who work alongside machines

The skills, habits and management structures that are proving to matter most.

Telling the story internally

How leaders are framing automation to their own organisations without either hype or fear.

Who is in the room.

Every seat is chosen for seniority, sector and a direct stake in the question. Guests are confirmed individually before an invitation is issued.

  • Chief Executives and Chief Operating Officers
  • Chief People Officers and HR Directors of technology-led organisations
  • Chief Information, Technology and Digital Officers
  • Transformation and change leaders at senior level

Chair and speakers.

Every Convene X roundtable is chaired by a member of the founding team, who sets the question and keeps the discussion honest and moving. Contributors are confirmed once the group is set and shared directly with confirmed participants, never announced for reach.

The chair

A member of the Convene X founding team, drawing on years of running senior rooms across finance and technology. The chair's job is to keep the conversation candid, balanced and useful to every guest.

Guest contributors

Confirmed to guests directly once the room is set. If you would like to contribute to this or a future room, or to bring a question of your own, brief us on your audience.
